काम उपभोग परमाः एतावत् इति निश्चिताः ॥ १६ ११॥
Aphorism
Giving themselves over to innumerable cares and anxieties that end only with death, holding the view that the gratification of desire is the highest goal, and feeling certain that this is all;
Notes:
This verse describes the psychological state and worldview of those with a demoniac nature. Consumed by endless worries and material anxieties that persist until the end of their lives, their sole purpose is sensory enjoyment and the satisfaction of personal desires. आशा पाश शतैः बद्धाः काम क्रोध परायणाः ।
ईहन्ते काम भोगार्थम् अन्यायेन अर्थ सञ्चयान् ॥ १६ १२॥
Aphorism
Bound by hundreds of ties of hope, completely given over to lust and anger, they strive by unjust means to amass wealth for the satisfaction of their desires.
Notes:
This verse highlights the psychological trap of materialism and greed among those with a demonic disposition. Entangled in endless expectations, anticipations, and worldly desires, they become entirely dominated by passions like lust (kama) and anger (krodha). Because their cravings are boundless and insatiable, they abandon ethical standards, resorting to deceit, exploitation, and unjust means simply to accumulate wealth to fuel their sensory indulgence.

Aphorism
This has been gained by me today; I will fulfill this desire. This wealth is mine, and that also shall be mine in the future;
Notes:
This verse illustrates the internal monologue of the ego-driven, materialist mindset consumed by a sense of absolute ownership and control. Believing they are the supreme enjoyers and masters of their destiny, such individuals are perpetually trapped in a cycle of tallying past acquisitions and plotting future gains. Their identity is entirely anchored in material possessions, wealth accumulation, and the egoic satisfaction of continuous desires, completely detached from any spiritual awareness or contentment.

There are three gateways leading to this hell: lust, anger, and greed. Therefore, everyone should renounce these three.
